I’m thrilled to have a special guest joining us today, Raquel Amster, who is Hometalk’s Pinterest Brand & Partnership Manager.

If you’re unfamiliar with Hometalk, it is the world’s largest online community of home and garden DIYers filled with how-to tutorials, ideas and advice.

In short, as a blogger, you have the opportunity to work with Hometalk in several ways, including being part of their Blogger traffic program, which helps you get a boost in traffic to your blog, sharing tutorials on Hometalk which helps you reach a wider audience, and being part of their Pinterest program.

We’re going to focus on the Pinterest program today because Raquel knows all the things about it.

I’ve actually had the pleasure of recently chatting with Raquel about my own strategy to earn money with Hometalk, and I thought it would be a great idea to have Raquel on an episode of my podcast so she can explain to you how it works and how you can start earning money with Hometalk, too.

Can you first tell us about Hometalk for those who aren’t as familiar with it? I know I gave a brief description, but can you tell us more about it? How long has Hometalk been around? What’s the goal of Hometalk etc.?

Can you tell us a little bit about you and about your specific position at Hometalk?

Let’s talk about the Pinterest program. What’s it all about? How can a blogger join? And just out of curiosity, will you be every blogger’s contact for the program or are there more people in your same position at Hometalk?

As you know, bloggers are very busy so one of the questions we often ask ourselves is “will this pay off for me?” If we’re spending time doing anything, we want to know that it’s going to somehow benefit us. So, how much do and can bloggers actually earn in this program?

One thing I love about this program is that you pick and choose which content you want to pin to Pinterest. So, you can go through the Pinterest library in Hometalk and pin whatever speaks to you AKA something that you would pin anyway.

But I know that there has to be more to your strategy than just pinning things here and there that catch your eye, so I want to talk about how to come up with a good strategy to earn money with this program.

Can you give us a general idea of the best type of strategy to use to earn money with Hometalk and potentially get in that $1k-$2k range every month?

So we talked about the Pinterest library, which is where we pin from to earn money. What are your best tips to get our own tutorials and content that we’ve added to Hometalk, in that Pinterest library to be pinned?

I’m a little bit of a nerd when it comes to analytics. There’s a dashboard in Hometalk where we can see our analytics, which I love! Can you talk about the dashboard?
