I recently added a small console table to this space, next to my back door. I really wanted a console table that had drawers for storage and one that would work with a vent below it.

I found this console table at Target for just $150. It’s a great dupe for this console table at West Elm, and it’s much more affordable. I have the color walnut, but I think the color vintage oak is just as beautiful. The light wood color is also very on trend right now. It wasn’t in stock when I bought this one, so I settled for walnut, which I think works great in our space.

TIPS FOR STYLING YOUR CONSOLE TABLE

Add wall decor above your console table.

In this case, I chose to add a round mirror. I like the clean lines and modern appearance. This is the 28” round mirror from Target. It’s affordable and the perfect size for this 38” wide console table.

Another option is some type of wall art.

The important thing to remember is sizing. You want to choose wall decor that’s almost as wide as your console table. If you have a really long console table, you may need to use two or three wall decor items above it.

Use taller decor items on each end of your console table.

For this simple console table styling, I chose a faux olive plant and a white planter with faux stems.

The two items don’t need to be the same height but it’s nice if they are a bit substantial.

You can see I boosted the planter by stacking a couple books. That’s always a great option if you need to add some height to your decor.

My console table is fairly small so I can’t fit too much more decor on it. I added a small candle for a finishing touch.

Add baskets or ottomans under the console table (if applicable).

I like the idea of one or two baskets on a bottom shelf of a console table. I didn’t add a second basket because I needed to keep that area open for our vent.

If you have a console table that doesn’t have a shelf and is open on the bottom, two ottomans pushed under it are a great option!
