Can you believe it’s already May? I have no clue where this year is going, but it sure is going fast. Recently, I posted my spring mantle decor on the blog, so I thought I’d follow up and show you the coziest spot in the living room: my chaise lounge.
You remember that commercial where the lady says “chaise” like “shayyyyyyseee” and she says it over and over again? No? It’s a funny one if you know which one I’m talking about.
Every time I go to say “chaise” I want to say “shayyyyssseee.” HA!
Anywho, it’s been a busy couple of weeks around here because we’re working on tons of home improvement projects, including a new mudroom. Woo!
If you want to follow the progress, make sure to follow along on Instagram in my stories because that’s where I post all about the updates we make on a daily/weekly basis. Right now, we have a wall down, the carpet is ripped up, and it’s looking like a disaster zone. But I’m totally fine with it because I know it’s necessary for the end result!
I digress.
This post is all about my cozy chaise, so here’s what it’s looking like right now.
I bought some fresh flowers at the ol’ Walmart, and plopped them in a vase. This is the first time this spring I’ve bought fresh flowers for inside our home. It was necessary. 😉 I always find that if you dig through the flowers at Walmart, you’re bound to find some fresh ones piled deep in there.
A staple around my house, especially during spring but really all year round, is sweet tea. I’m an old fashioned tea maker myself. I boil water in a pan, then add tea bags to steep, empty it over ice, and then add sweetener. My hubs recently turned me on to Lipton’s southern sweet tea bags. Holy. Moly. They’re great. It’s already sweetened perfectly, so you can skip that last step. Since he turned me on to them, I haven’t looked back to the regular ol’ teabags.
I’m seriously obsessed with my copper pitcher and copper tray.
As for the rest of my spring living room decor, I kept it pretty simple. The basket is filled with faux eucalyptus. On the side table (which was a chalk paint makeover table), is my favorite candle ever.
I get tons of questions about our couch. We have this couch with the chaise feature, and it’s super comfortable.
You can see a sneak peek of the mantel in the photo below. The mantel has a farmhouse look this year, and I’m loving it.
