There’s just something about having the ability to walk outside of your home and enter your own personal dream paradise. While I love vacationing, there’s nothing better than turning your patio into a vacation-like outdoor oasis. There are so many items, some of which are often overlooked, that can help you achieve a dreamlike summer patio.
Below, I’ve linked to a ton of inspiration and shop-able images using my affiliate links so you can get your patio summer-ready!
HERE IS THE ULTIMATE CHECKLIST FOR A DECKED-OUT SUMMER PATIO:
- OUTDOOR DINING TABLE AND CHAIR SET. To create a gorgeous, decked out summer patio, an outdoor dining table and chair set is essential. There are tons of options, from pricey to affordable. Target offers some affordable options for summer patio dining sets, like this Fairmont Steel Rectangular Patio Dining Table that’s part of a complete dining set. Home Depot also offers some nice dining sets. I particularly love this Acacia Wood Extendable Outdoor Dining Table and matching chair set.

- SERVEWARE/TABLESCAPE ITEMS. A dining table and chair set would not be complete without beautiful serveware and tablescape items. I love the idea of using casual and colorful dinnerware sets. I’m particularly partial to the Noritake Colorwave Rim Dinnerware Collection. I own the terracotta set, but I adore the turquoise set, especially for summer. Noritake also makes matching items for the dinnerware sets like this beautiful Colorware Pitcher in Turquoise. A great serving piece for entertaining is this Lazy Susan Swirl Server. No matter where your guests are sitting, they’ll have easy access to all your delicious appetizers.

- LOUNGE FURNITURE. Adding lounge furniture to your summer patio creates a laid-back vibe, which is perfect for those summer nights. Lounge furniture is ideal for entertaining because you can set up the pieces in a conversation-focused format. They’re also perfect for simply hanging out with your family on any given day. This Naples Grey 4-Piece Wicker Patio Set is the perfect conversation furniture for hosting your friends and family. I also adore this vibrant Fabron 4-piece Wicker Patio Set.

- BAR CART. Outdoor bar carts are a functional addition to your summer patio, especially when you’re hosting a summer gathering. If you have any outdoor wicker dining or lounge set, check out this Bahama Wicker Bar Cart. If you’re drawn more to the wood look, this Acacia Wood Patio Bar Cart tops my list. The perfect addition to any bar cart is this Pedestal Beverage Jug. I own it, and I love the ice chamber feature. It keeps my iced tea and lemonade cool in the summer heat without watering down the beverage!

- OUTDOOR POUF. Outdoor poufs are just as awesome as indoor ones. Adding a couple to your summer patio is an easy and inexpensive way to add some additional seating when guests are over. I’m obsessing over this navy rope pouf and this woven seaside stripe pouf from Target. Some matching throw pillows will easily top off the look.

- THROW PILLOWS. Throw pillows are the perfect accent to your lounge furniture. I love that they can easily be switched out to create various looks for different holidays, seasons, and events throughout the year. If you’re having a backyard get together for July 4th, for example, you could easily throw on some blue and red pillows. If you like having the same pillows all summer long, that’s great too. This set of navy outdoor throw pillows is beautiful and would look great all summer long. I’m also loving this anchor throw pillow set that would look great if you have a nautical theme.

- OUTDOOR LIGHTING. Whatever you do, don’t forget the lighting. Outdoor lighting is a must for any nighttime summer patio gathering. There are so many types of outdoor lighting and so many ways to incorporate lighting on your patio that there’s no reason not to invest in some. I’m a fan of these Spiral String Lights with Black Wire that could hang over your patio lounge set. They would create a beautiful glow at night, just overhead. You can also achieve a nice glow with this LED Candle Outdoor Lantern.

- SOURCE OF SHADE. Sometimes a source of shade can be overlooked. If you’re hosting a party or even just your family outside during the daytime, it can get very hot. An area out-of-the-sun is a must and can be achieved with an umbrella or covered pergola. This Square Cantilever Umbrella is a good choice because of its shape and size. If you like a bit more coverage, this Cedar Pergola is a showstopper. You can easily add a cover on it and some curtains around the sides for extra shade.
