Nothing gives me more joy than decorating our home for different holiday events, so you can imagine how eager I was to prepare our Thanksgiving table decorations.

This year, Jason and I are hosting Thanksgiving dinner at our house for a party of 12. Our families are, fortunately, bringing the majority of the side dishes so we can focus on cooking the turkey and more importantly, decorating. 😉 To get my creative juices flowing, I did a mock trial of our Thanksgiving table for a party of four.

The first thing I did was determine a color scheme for this year’s tablescape. I knew I wanted to incorporate our white and muted orange pumpkins that we picked earlier this season from our local pumpkin patch. I decided to bring in a purple hue alongside the orange hue because I love the way the two colors contrast with one another. Luckily I had some lilac colored berry branches in my stockpile that I was able to pair with our Noritake terra cotta colored plates. To complete my centerpiece, I added in some additional faux branches and stems as well as some candles and a table runner. After creating a layered look for each place setting, I added some final touches, and my entire tablescape was complete!
On Thanksgiving, I’ll add to the Thanksgiving table decorations so there’s a place setting for everyone. Until then, I’ll be thinking about all the reasons I am thankful this year. 🙂
HERE ARE MY LILAC & TERRA COTA COLORED THANKSGIVING TABLE DECORATIONS:
I have had an obsession with terra cotta colored everything for several years now. When my husband and I got married in 2014, I put almost all the terra cotta colored products from Noritake colorware collection on our wedding registry. It was a great decision because the set has come to function as our everyday tableware but also dresses up wonderfully for Thanksgiving tablescapes.
I own the majority of the collection, and I love how functional and versatile it is. Here are some of the products from that collection:
As mentioned above, I had bought a muted orange pumpkin and two smaller white pumpkins at our local pumpkin patch. I incorporated them in the centerpiece. As far as the smaller orange and red pumpkins that are used primarily on the plates, they are mini faux pumpkins I had on hand. You could easily use all faux pumpkins or all real pumpkins for this tablescape and it would look lovely.
I incorporated various types of floral sprays including faux eucalyptus and berry-centric stems. Here are some branch and stem options to get the look:
This two-tiered stand is my absolute favorite piece from the Noritake colorwave set. From displaying fruits and veggies to doubling as a cupcake stand, this product is versatile for everyday use and more elegant occasions. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used it!
For each place setting, I layered a placemat, charger, and plate. I topped it off with a tiny faux pumpkin.

I hung a fall wreath to my chalk-painted hutch. I love that it adds a little something extra to the overall feel of the room. Here are some similar fall wreaths:
I hope you’re able to take away some practical ideas for your Thanksgiving table decorations this year.
