If you would have asked me a year ago if I would describe myself as a homebody, my answer would have been a resounding no. I loved being home but I spent the majority of my day commuting to work, working, running errands after work, going out for happy hours, and then starting all over again.
A lot of things have happened since then. I brought a beautiful baby girl into this world. I quit my full time marketing gig to become a stay at home mom. I started a home decor and DIY blog. Let’s just say that the tables have turned… at least 180 degrees.

These days, nothing makes me happier than waking up to the sounds of my baby girl’s voice, slipping into some yoga pants and a comfy tee, leisurely making my way downstairs to start a pot of coffee, cooking a healthy breakfast for my girl and me, and then snuggling up under a cozy blanket to cuddle.
OK, my morning routing isn’t quite like that. Let me try that again. It’s more like this:
These days, nothing makes me happier than waking up to the sound of my baby girl’s shriek, scurrying over to her crib in whatever I slept in, changing her diaper, rushing downstairs to get her milk as quickly as possible, warming up leftover coffee in the microwave that my hubby made three hours earlier (he has to get up really early for his job), eating whatever I can make that takes less than two minutes, and then snuggling up under a cozy blanket to cuddle. That last part is still accurate.
Although my mornings aren’t picture perfect or out of a fairytale book, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am definitely, without a doubt, a homebody these days. And I love it.
