It’s hard to believe I’m even typing this, but holy moly, this is happening! It’s real, you guys! My home is in print.
My home was photographed in January 2019 so I knew it was coming…for ten long months! I could hardly contain my excitement about it, and I kept second guessing if it was actually going to happen. I guess that’s because I was having a hard time believing it was all really happening. But here we are; I’ve seen it for my own eyes!
My home has a ten page spread in Country Cottage Christmas 2019, a special holiday edition of The Cottage Journal. I’m so incredibly honored and grateful for this amazing opportunity!
My Christmas photos were actually found on Instagram, which has confirmed not only my love for the platform but also the opportunities that can come when you understand how to harness the platform! That’s one of the reasons I’m releasing an Instagram course – I believe that much in the power of Instagram! Send me an email if you want in on the wait list for it! It will be out in a few weeks. The course is designed specifically for home decor Instagram accounts to learn how to grow their account.
Nearly three years ago, I quit my marketing job to stay home with my baby, and during that transition I decided to take a giant leap and start a home decor blog and accompanying Instagram account. I really wanted a creative outlet and I thought it would be good to channel my love for decorating and DIY into that outlet, and so began A Brick Home.
I don’t have any background in interior design; I just have a passion for it and decided to pursue it. I never imagined it would lead to me being featured in one of my favorite magazines. That seemed like a distant dream… and yet, this is now my life.
If you don’t take anything else from this blog post today – take this: Go and pursue your passion. You never know where it could lead or how different your life will be in just a few short years.
I remember thinking (briefly) I was crazy to leave my career and start this passion at 27 years old. I was a marketer. That was my life. I was going to climb the corporate ladder. And… now this? It’s so weird to think about it, but I think I knew deep down that the corporate life was never right for me.
THIS is the life I was meant to live. I’m supposed to be pursuing my creative passions and helping others do the same.
I’m taking this accomplishment as an affirmation that I’m doing what I’m MEANT to do. And, even if this never happened, I would keep going anyway with my blog and Instagram account but it just FEELS RIGHT.
All that being said, I’m am incredibly thankful and grateful to be part of this magazine. I owe a huge thank you to @charlottesafavi and @radifera for putting this together and taking gorgeous photos.
Charlotte Safavi wrote an amazing article in Country Cottage Christmas about our do-it-yourself Christmas last year. I highly recommend the read. 😉
You can purchase the magazine here! Or, take a look at the cover below and find it at a local shop near you.
