I’m so thrilled you are here, joining in on The Very Merry Christmas Home Tour, hosted by the wonderful Carrie from Lovely Etc. If you’re hopping over from Designing Vibes, welcome! Isn’t Erica’s home stunning? I love how she incorporated some Scandinavian style into her holiday decor!

Once you’re done here, make sure to check out tons of other awesome Christmas inspiration from posts linked below. There is a seriously talented group of bloggers on this blog hop, so you won’t want to miss out on any of them!

Christmas time is such a naturally magical time of year, but this year I’m feeling that Christmas spirit more so than I have in years past. I think it’s because my sweet Hannah is two years old now, and she’s starting to understand that this is a special time. I feel like I get to see the magic of the season through her eyes now. She lights up when she sees Christmas lights, she twirls around every time we play Christmas music (though, to be fair, she twirls around regardless of the type of music!), and she mentions Santa every chance she gets.

This holiday season has already been jam-packed with fun family activities, including taking a trip to cut down our Christmas tree on what happened to be the coldest day of the year thus far. We’ve baked not one but two batches of Christmas cookies already, including gingerbread and chocolate chip. Surprisingly, Hannah isn’t a big fan of cookies. She takes after her daddy there because this mama definitely has a sweet tooth. We’ve had family dance parties to the Pentatonix Christmas album on Spotify. We’ve watched tons of new holiday movies. We still need to watch some of the classics though! And, of course, we have decorated. That may or may not be my favorite part! 😉

I’ve started to include Hannah on the Christmas decorating fun, though her idea of decorating is to move things from where I put them to random other spots and also put toys into mommy’s lanterns and vases. I can’t complain though. Nothing makes me happier than seeing her enjoy herself. 🙂

I could babble on about Hannah for days, but knowing that you’re here to see some fun Christmas decorating ideas, let’s get to it!

A SNOWY, CHIC & RUSTIC CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR

THE ENTRYWAY

It seems natural to start my snowy, chic and rustic Christmas tour in the entryway, so that’s where we’ll begin. My staircase is the first thing that welcomes you when you enter my home. Because the staircase is the first place your eyes go, I really wanted to deck it out with some pretty garland. To keep it budget-friendly, I decided to make DIY Christmas garland. I’m really happy with the way it turned out!

Wow!! A MAGICAL snowy white holiday home, filled with chic and rustic touches! A MUST-SEE! #rusticchristmas

If you’re interested in learning how to make this garland in your home, you can check out the tutorial. My sweet pup Sadie would greet you at the door, so I had to include a photo of her here.

As you look to the left when you enter my home, you will see our dining room. We’ll get to this room in a minute, but first, I want to show you our entry hallway first.

THE HALLWAY

As you can see below, our vintage buffet greets you as you peer down this hallway from the front door. You’ll notice a lot of flocked trees and snow-filled landscapes on this tour, and this vignette is no different. Most of the items below are from Home Goods except those two copper mugs.

In fact, those mugs are the first copper items I have ever bought. I’m actually quite obsessed with them and it has spurred a newfound love of copper. As you may imagine, my Christmas list is filled with lots and lots of copper decor.Wow!! A MAGICAL snowy white holiday home, filled with chic and rustic touches! A MUST-SEE! #rusticchristmas

THE DINING ROOM

Below is the view of our dining room as you look downward from the steps. It’s one of my favorite views in our home. When I walk down the stairs from our bedroom each morning, I usually stop and look at this room for a few seconds. It’s the one room in our house that it not used frequently and therefore doesn’t really have toys in it. We keep it clean and decorated as much as possible. Jason calls our dining room our show room since we rarely use it!

One of the main things I did this year to create that snowy look in my home was to flock ALL THE TREES! I had a faux tree already that had been handed down to Jason and myself years ago. I really wanted a second tree in my dining room to go on the other side of the hutch, so I bought this one for only $20. To give it some height, I flipped a basked upside down and put it under the tree. It gave it the perfect height to match the other tree. This tree was not originally flocked either, so I flocked it along with the other one.Wow!! A MAGICAL snowy white holiday home, filled with chic and rustic touches! A MUST-SEE! #rusticchristmas

I did a Facebook Live while flocking this small tree! I used this snow flock, and it worked beautifully. If you have an old tree that you want to give new life to, or you just want to create a snow-filled look this year, make sure to check out my how-to video on flocking. Wow!! As we move to the dining table, you’ll notice I carry over a similar snow-filled look. I really wanted to create a chic and rustic Christmas look, so I used glass ornaments for the chicness and the wooden-box trees for the rustic vibe. I love how they work so well together.

You may recognize these tabletop trees from my fall-to-winter look in my dining room. I raved about them, and rightfully so. They are over a foot tall and only $5 each. The quality is also great, which is especially awesome considering the low price point.Wow!! A MAGICAL snowy white holiday home, filled with chic and rustic touches! A MUST-SEE! #rusticchristmas

To keep the snow-filled look throughout the room, I ended up flocking these tabletop trees along with trees on either side of the hutch.Wow!! A MAGICAL snowy white holiday home, filled with chic and rustic touches! A MUST-SEE! #rusticchristmas

The place settings were quite easy to make and really just required some layering. I started with these jute chargers, which are now a staple in my home. The white wooden chargers, white napkins, and napkin rings are from Home Goods and the plates are from a thrift store.Wow!! A MAGICAL snowy white holiday home, filled with chic and rustic touches! A MUST-SEE! #rusticchristmas

I kept the napkins pretty simple. This napkin look is one of four looks I talked about in this video. If you want to create a fun tablescape for the holiday season, make sure to check out this Facebook live for fun napkin ideas that are super easy to do.To dress up the chairs, I tied some ornaments around them. I love that the ornaments play off the ones that I used in snowy center of the table.Wow!! A MAGICAL snowy white holiday home, filled with chic and rustic touches! A MUST-SEE! #rusticchristmas

The snow that I used in the table center as well as on my white buffet (below), was actually free. It is stuffing from old pillows! I did a Facebook live on this fun pillow hack, too. If you love fun ideas like this, make sure to follow me on Facebook because I have tons of upcoming Facebook lives I’ll be doing for fun holiday decorating ideas.Wow!! A MAGICAL snowy white holiday home, filled with chic and rustic touches! A MUST-SEE! #rusticchristmas As you can see above and below, I tried a version with the tabletop trees on the white candle holders and a version with candles on the white candle holders. The trees give it a more rustic vibe and the candles give it a more chic vibe. I like both versions but decided to keep the trees on the candle holders in the end.Wow!! Here’s a shot of my dining room lit up at night. I had a recent question about how I plugged in my pre-lit wreath. You can slightly see in this shot that I connected it to an extension cord that runs up and behind my hutch. The burlap ribbon that’s holding the wreath masks the cords pretty well! Wow!! THE KITCHEN

As we make our way into the kitchen, you’ll notice I kept it pretty simple. On the tops of the kitchen cabinets, I used branches from our real Christmas tree. We always end up having to cut off a bunch of branches from the bottom of the tree so that it can slide in our Christmas tree stand. Instead of tossing the branches, I though I would repurpose them in my kitchen. This is such an easy and budget-friendly decorating idea if you buy a real tree each year.

On the counter, I have my small Christmas trees set up. I made these DIY burlap Christmas trees last year and have gotten tons of questions on them. I guess I should’ve made a tutorial! 😉 I made them using styrofoam shapes and burlap ribbon. I simply folded each strand of ribbon in half as I layered each one on the tree. That folding method gives the burlap trees a little more depth.Wow!! A MAGICAL snowy white holiday home, filled with chic and rustic touches! A MUST-SEE! #rusticchristmas

THE BREAKFAST NOOK

The little flocked green trees are so cute and just $1 each from Walmart. I put one on my Christmas tree plate (shown above) and the others on our kitchen table AKA our breakfast nook (shown below). Wow!! We had a little coffee & cookie party so I thought I’d snap a few shots from it. These chocolate chip cookies are some that Hannah and I made together. They turned out excellent despite the fact that I am not a baker by any means. I just used the recipe on the back of the chocolate chip bag and all I can say is YUM. 🙂 Wow!! A MAGICAL snowy white holiday home, filled with chic and rustic touches! A MUST-SEE! #rusticchristmas

Although I’m the biggest cookie lover in our home, Jason and I are equally obsessed with coffee.  On his days off work, we share several pots of coffee a day. And yes, we use an old fashion coffee maker over here! I may be the last of my generation to do so!Wow!! A MAGICAL snowy white holiday home, filled with chic and rustic touches! A MUST-SEE! #rusticchristmas

That sweet little Christmas tree sugar and creamer set was a Christmas gift from my mom several years ago. It actually has some matching trays with it which I love pulling out during the holiday season. This set is perfect for coffee parties. Also, I don’t know if there is such a thing as coffee parties but I like coffee and I like parties, so there you have it.Wow!! A MAGICAL snowy white holiday home, filled with chic and rustic touches! A MUST-SEE! #rusticchristmas

You may have noticed above that I mentioned we bought a real tree, however, I showed you exactly zero photos of our real tree.  That’s because I haven’t yet revealed it! I’m putting the finishing touches on it, and I look forward to revealing my tree in the next week or so. Make sure you don’t miss my Christmas tree reveal (and other cool projects) by subscribing to my email list!
