Mother nature has really stepped up her game recently in Maryland. Over the past couple weeks, we’ve had snow, ice, freezing temps, and high winds. It’s really starting to feel like winter around here. I’m a cold-weather lover, and to me, nothing beats curling up by the fireplace under a cozy blanket and drinking some hot coffee.
After Christmas was over, I slowly started decorating my home for winter. It’s always a slow process for me because I like to deep clean my home at the start of the year, too.
The first area of my home that I decorated for winter was my dining room, which I decked out in copper decor. My living room is the second area that I decorated using cozy winter decor. Over time, I switched up the look of the fireplace. My vintage mirror is pretty much a staple above my fireplace because I just love it there so much.
I added the “together” sign along with tons of candles.
I also hung my vintage ladder horizontally under the mantel and added some eucalyptus garland. I explained in an Instagram post that I like to drape the garland along either side of the fireplace because it gives the perception of a more defined fireplace. It essentially helps to balance out the overly long mantel.
I chose birch candles for cozy winter decor for the side table. I’ve picked up these birch candles over the years when they’ve been discounted at Home Goods.
I always get tons of questions about our couch. We have this couch, and it’s incredibly comfortable.
This sectional is one that you can design yourself, so we made sure to get the one with the chaise lounge on the corner. It makes for the perfect spot to cozy up on when it’s cold outside.
The eucalyptus stems are from Walmart, and I’ve started a collection of them over the past year or so. They’re only $3/stem, and they’re so real looking. I normally don’t buy faux stems at Walmart, but these eucalyptus ones are the exception!
I really love how all these cozy winter decor pieces came together in my living room.
Our family spends tons of time in here, so it’s important to me to make sure this space always feels inviting and cozy.
I think this cozy winter decor will be pretty easy to flip to spring decor in a couple months with just a few simple changes.
If the weather near you is anything like the weather near me, I hope you’re staying warm.
Thanks for visiting my cozy winter living room. Keep reading and check out my winter dining room.
