Happy Friday! We’ve been busy bees over here this holiday season – and we’ve been completing lots of projects unrelated to Christmas.

I am done decorating for Christmas this year and now we’re just enjoying all the glow. We’ve switched gears and have completed two projects in our living room.
The first project we completed was adding recessed lighting. Our living room has desperately needed more lighting since we moved in our house. We added eight, 6” lights throughout our living room, two of which are above our bookcases. I’m so glad we added a light above each bookcase because it really lights up the bookcases and makes a pretty glow in the room.
The second project we’ve been working on is updating our old bookcase. Awhile back we added legs and crown molding to a bookcase. I’ve been using the bookcase in my office, but I wanted more storage space in our living room for toys so I decided to give it a makeover again and move it to our living room.
I painted it black, and it has given it a whole new look. I just ordered 10 bins for the bookshelves and am considering adding doors to make it a storage cabinet.
I’m really pleased with the progress so far and I love the added height this bookcase gives in this part of our living room.
Friday Faves
- This small white vase. I happened to see this vase one day while shopping and I couldn’t pass it up. It is such a good deal and I love its clean look. I currently have it on my kitchen counter with some Christmas stems!
- Adidas Ultraboost women’s running shoes. I went on a run the other day and finally wore these for the first time to exercise. These shoes are amazing for running! They grip your foot snugly and are very comfortable. I also love the way they look!
- Taupe taper candles. I recently switched out my white taper candles on my mantel with taupe colored candles and it made such a difference. My mantel and wall is white so it was hard to see the white candles. Now you can easily see the candles since they’re a different color than the wall!
