We’ve made so much progress on our baby nursery, and I’m thrilled with how it’s all coming together.

I recently painted our picture frame accent wall in the most beautiful beige paint – Sherwin Williams accessible beige.

I shared the tutorial to make this accent wall as well as a mood board for how I want the nursery to look.

As you can see under the outlet, I got some paint on the carpet. There was also some old stains and other paint spots on our nursery carpet from awhile back.

Before I could get decorating this space, I knew I needed to get the carpet looking better.

Here’s how the carpet looked directly under the outlet area. These spots were smeared paint that was completely dry.

I gathered my supplies to work on these dried paint spots. I gathered Dawn dish soap, how water in a bowl, a sponge, and a screwdriver.

I began by getting the dried paint spots wet with the hot water. By the way, my water was REALLY hot. I thought it might help break up the paint better.

Then, I dabbed some Dawn dish soap on the spot.

Next, I scrubbed, scrubbed, scrubbed. I used the tough side of the sponge.

Then, I got the screwdriver and scraped the paint upward to the top of the carpet. After I did this, I realized I didn’t really need to do this step. I could get all the dried paint out of the carpet simply by scrubbing the dish soap on it.

I couldn’t believe how easy it was and how well the dish soap paired with hot water worked! It didn’t take long at all either.

HOW I GOT DRIED PAINT OUT OF CARPET – METHOD 2

Next up, I worked on getting a thicker paint blotch out of the carpet. See the white patch of paint there? That’s what I tried to get out.

At first, I used method #1 and tried to get the dried paint out of the carpet.

This method did not work for this paint blotch. I think it was just too much thick paint to get out of the carpet.

So, I decided to try a different method. I grabbed a pair of scissors and cut it out! The paint was sitting on top the carpet, so I just cut the very top of the carpet. Once I was done, you’d never know I cut any of the carpet.

This method may not be for everyone, but it worked for me!

After I was done scrubbing and cutting out the paint dried paint blotches, I went over the entire carpet with my carpet cleaner.

Once I was done, my carpet looked so good! I couldn’t believe how well these methods worked along with my carpet cleaner!

Here’s another view of our completed accent wall. I may have spilled some paint, but I think the carpet cleaning was worth it! I love how it turned out.
