Welcome to our Christmas sitting room. I decided to keep our sitting room neutral-toned for the holidays. I recently completed our moody Christmas living room and wanted to carry some of those tones into our sitting room.

While I kept our Christmas tree decor neutral, I did add darker tones throughout the rest of the room, including black tables and brown pillows. I like having each room’s aesthetic flow to the next room, and the moodier tones do just that!
Our Christmas tree is one that we’ve had for years. In fact, I had it as a child too! My mom gave me the tree several years back and it has held up surprisingly well considering its age.
I rearranged the room a couple times including changing the placement of the tree. I finally settled on the middle of the room, and I’m really liking the symmetry it has created.
One simple change I made recently to this room is adding the sconces to either side of the gallery wall. These sconces were in my dining room but I moved them in here, and I really like the gold tone it brings to the room.
My other new addition is the lamp. I actually grabbed this on major sale! It is huge and heavy and I love the statement it makes in our sitting room.
As far as the rest of the decor in the room, I didn’t use too much Christmas decor. I mostly just used my everyday decor that goes in this room.
I did add snowy, white ornaments to the coffee table bowl, but that’s it as far as Christmas decor (other than the tree, of course).
On the Christmas tree, I used white and champagne colored ornaments and off-white bead garland. I used a couple burlap poinsettias at the top and tied some brown velvet ribbon around the branches. I found the knitted tree skirt at Home Goods a few years ago.
I also tied some of my velvet ribbon into a bow around my sconces. It’s the little details that make all the difference, and I do love repetition when it comes to decor.
Thanks for joining me on a little Christmas tour around my sitting room! I hope you got some inspiration.
