Christmas is such a special time of year, but can I admit something? I always look forward to its end because that means a new beginning – and with a new beginning comes refreshing and simplified decor. As much as I love tearing down the Christmas decorations and starting fresh, I don’t remove all the decorations. After all, some of those decorations still say ‘winter’ to me.

My main goal is to revert my home back to a more neutral state after Christmas. This year, I used lots of red which I have loved, but as soon as Christmas is over, everything that’s red with go into storage for hibernation. I love the idea of keeping pops of greenery throughout my home during winter. I plan to continue displaying my green wreaths and small flocked pine trees.
I really like the idea of adding a pine tree art print over the mantel or displayed above an entryway table. Add some faux fur pillows, tasseled blankets, and a cute coffee mug, and it’ll be just perfect for the brisk winter months here in Maryland.
I picked out some amazing rustic winter decor finds from around the web that will inspire me, and hopefully you, to create a cozy and inviting home atmosphere home during winter.
