Simple & Neutral Christmas Decor in My Living Room

This year, I wanted to make my living room feel cozy and festive, but also use simple and neutral Christmas decor. I wanted my Christmas decor to feel light and fun to create. I’m happy with the earthy, woodland vibe; it’s giving me all the wonderful cozy feels that this time of year brings.

MY NEUTRAL CHRISTMAS MANTEL

This is the first year I’ve had such a large mantel to decorate. I knew I wanted to make a massive garland to span across the entire mantel.

To make the garland, I used tons of different types of garlands, branches, and stems. I started with some cheap pine garlands that have wired branches. This is key when making any garland look fuller. The wired branches allow you to wrap in other garlands and branches and make a seamless, full look.

I attached the cheap pine garlands using four nails across the top of the mantel. I wrapped the garlands around the nails and it made a pretty secure hold.

Then I added lots of dangly pine branches and cedar branches. To finish it off, I added in some faux eucalyptus stems. I use these ALL the time, for every season. They are a great investment if you want to decorate your home!

MY COFFEE TABLE DECOR & CHRISTMAS TREE DECOR

Having a four year old, my coffee table decor gets moved around a lot. That’s why I always try to keep it pretty simple. I used a few books, some white beaded garland, and a wooden dough bowl full of some white ornaments.

Here’s a closer view:

For my Christmas tree decor, I kept it simple and very similar to last year’s look. I used burlap ribbon, woodland and white ornaments, pinecone branches, and some frosted red berry branches.

The red berry branches are actually the only red tones I have in this entire room. It felt like just enough color to add to my otherwise neutral Christmas decor in my living room.

MY SIDE TABLE

Similar to my coffee table, my side table decor gets moved around a lot. For this look, I used my green jar vase, a few cinnamon sticks, some books and some candles.

My absolute favorite candle to burn during the holiday season is Tree Farm from Antique Candle Co. It smells just like a fresh cut Christmas tree. It’s especially wonderful when you have faux trees around your home so you can still smell the wonderful scent of pine without having a real tree.

SOME MORE ROOM SHOTS

Here are a few more shots from around my neutral living room.

We haven’t had our first fire yet, but I’m excited for it! The room feels perfect for all things winter and cozy.
