I love real flowers, I really do, but I’ve been stepping up my faux flower arrangements game because faux flowers are just so much easier to take care of.
I have two dogs (one being a puppy) and a toddler to take care of at home, so anything that makes my life a little easier is a win in my book.
Fun fact: my mom has the biggest green thumb. She has over 20 flower pots filled with beautiful blooms that she keeps year after year. For some reason, that will to take care of real flowers didn’t rub off on me. It’s always fun to go admire all her real flowers because I definitely have a lack of real ones in my home!
I do try to keep one or two real flower arrangements around as much as possible, but when I don’t have them, I still have my faux flower arrangements to bring beauty in my home.
Faux flower arrangements can be just as beautiful as real ones, and many times, can look incredibly real, too.
All three faux flower arrangements in today’s post are made using faux flowers from Walmart! I’ve been amazed recently at how much Walmart has stepped up their floral section game. They have some beautiful flowers that actually look real.
Here are three faux flower arrangements around my home made from Walmart faux flowers:
1. Faux pink peonies
These faux pink peonies are a favorite of mine. They are so real looking, even in person! Each stem has a full bloom and a beginner bloom, which helps with the realism.
Hannah pie wanted to join in on today’s photoshoot. It’s funny how her dress matches perfectly with the theme, which was completely unplanned.
The faux peonies stems are pretty long too, which is great because they fit in my large decorative vase perfectly. I didn’t have to cut the stems at all!
I’ve actually had several guests in my home mistake them for real flowers; that’s how real they look. I highly recommend checking out your local Walmart to see if they have these faux peonies stems in stock.
I’ve noticed that they don’t always carry them in my local Walmart, so it’s really a hit or miss. It helps to check the floral section often.
2. Faux orchids
These faux orchid stems provide the perfect pop of color in an otherwise neutral space. I love the beauty they bring to the entryway! I was looking for something to put on that entryway table for quite awhile. Originally I had a mirror propped up, but it didn’t quite work because we have light switches right there and, with the mirror, we couldn’t easily access them.
That’s when we decided to swap the mirror for the flower vase with faux orchids. The faux orchids provide some camouflage to the switches while also providing easy access to turn the lights on and off – a win-win. The large vase is a find from TJ Maxx and the table is from Home Goods.
In the photo above, I only had four faux orchids in my vase. I decided that the vase wasn’t full enough, so the next time I was at Walmart, I grabbed several more to add to it.
I love the way this easy faux flower arrangement came together. You may notice I’m a fan of keeping the same types of flowers in a vase. I do like mixing it up sometimes, but I like the simple elegance of a vase with numerous flowers that are all the same type.
3. Faux Eucalyptus
Last fall I had these faux eucalyptus stems in the grey vase above, but after I put the faux orchids in there, I found a new spot for the eucalyptus in my large white pitcher.
These faux eucalyptus stems are actually the first florals I bought from Walmart. At $3/stem I couldn’t pass them up! After I bought them, I was sold on Walmart florals, not only because of price but also because of how realistic they are.
Look how tall they are coming out of my vase.
Something was funny…
I really love the way all three of my arrangements came together. They are all in close proximity to each other in my home, and they all work very well being so close together.
