Happy Friday my dears! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week. I feel like this week flew by. I made a few more updates in our living room this week, and I’m so happy with how everything looks.
Last week, I painted our living room white and finished up Hannah’s toy storage area.

This week, I worked on the decorating part of the project and got a new 9 x 12 area rug, a new round mirror and a new ottoman. I actually ordered a second ottoman for this space so we can even out the room.
A few other plans I have for the living room include painting my picture frames black (from this gallery wall) so they contrast with the wall and getting a picture light for over our large picture frame above the couch. I also want to get a log holder for our fireplace.
Slowly but surely this space is becoming how I envisioned, and I’m so darn happy!!

This week, I also worked on painting the mudroom and side entry hallway white. I used my favorite white paint for the project, and I love how it’s turning out. Jason also installed can lights in the hallway, which make the space look so much better. I’ll be sharing more on that project later.
FRIDAY FAVES
- Area rug – This rug is gorgeous! It is currently in stock right now and ON SALE! I have the 9×12 size in the color olive/charcoal. It is a thin, soft rug, and it is already hiding dirt well. It has lots of warm color tones and pulls hues from the items in my living room. It’s one of those rugs that will work well in SO MANY areas. I highly recommend it!
- Tufted metal base ottoman – I’ve been eyeing this ottoman for awhile, and I finally snagged it the other day at Target. It’s very similar to this Pottery Barn ottoman except way cheaper! I’m thrilled with how well this ottoman goes in our room, and I’m excited to have it for all sorts of uses. Of course, we’ll use it to prop our feet up, but we’ll also have it as a seat to pull up to the coffee table when we’re playing games together. Right now, Hannah loves to play Uno with us in the living room. I’ll be happy to have a place to sit next time (instead of the floor) when we play!
- 28” round decorative mirror – I’ve wanted a round mirror for awhile, so I finally got this one and I’m so happy I did. It is a great size and it also comes in lots of color options.
- Espresso carousel – I was looking for a pod holder for my Nespresso pods that we use for our espresso maker. I grabbed this carousel on Amazon and I love it. It holds 50 pods (40 in the four sections and 10 more fit in the middle while still in their original packaging). It’s the perfect organization solution for our pods!
- Razor Scooter – This is probably a surprising favorite because it’s not home decor, but Jason and I have been getting tons of use out of this scooter! I bought it for Jason for Christmas so he could scoot along with Hannah outside. It’s perfect for adults and I know it will be great for Hannah to use when she gets older. I have found myself using it too, and the best part is that it’s super affordable!
